Setting up your Default Devices in Windows for BEACN Mic and BEACN Mic with Advanced Mixing

BEACN Mix Create and BEACN Mic with Advanced Mixing are powerful routing tools once you get them set up. However, most issues arise when default devices are not set up properly or they are reset.

NOTE: BEACN cannot reset your default devices. These resets typically happen when Windows has an update. While we cannot prevent defaults from resetting, we can help you reset them up quickly.

 

The Following steps will get you back up and running quickly:

BEACN Mic Without Advanced Mixing

Step 1: Search "Change System Sounds" in your windows search bar and left click on the result that matches like below.

Step 2: In the new window that is opened select the playback tab, and scroll down until you see "Headphones" BEACN Mic, and left click it once so its highlighted. Then click on the "Set Default" button next to properties.

It should then look like the following:

Step 4: Select the "Recording" tab next, and scroll down until you find "Microphone" BEACN Mic and left click it once so its highlighted. Then click on the "Set Default" button next to properties.

If you prefer to go step by step instead of watching the above video then the following steps will also get you back up and running.

Step 1: Search "Change System Sounds" in your windows search bar and left click on the result that matches like below.

Step 2: In the new window that is opened select the playback tab, and scroll down until you see the "Chat" Device and right click on it and select "Set as Default Communications Device"

Step 3: Scroll down until you see the "System" Device and right click on it and select "Set as Default Device".

Step 4: Select the "Recording" tab next, and scroll down until you find "Voice Chat Mic" and left click it once so its highlighted. Then click on the "Set Default" button next to properties.
